Evelyn Cecilia Sladek, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was called home by her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday April 9, 2013 at the age of 85. Evelyn was born on July 28, 1927 in Thorndale, TX, to the late Elizabeth (Walbrick) Becker and Julius Becker. On March 30, 1947, Evelyn married Lee Roy Sladek in Detmold, TX. Evelyn and Lee Roy owned a homebuilding business until Lee Roy's retirement. Throughout the years, they established many lifelong friendships as avid square dancers. Evelyn loved to entertain and proved to always be a gracious and generous hostess. Evelyn dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family. She was a devoted Christian and a member of the Lutheran faith. Her husband of 58 years Lee Roy and her son Stephen Roy preceded her in death in 2005 and 2007, respectively. She is survived by her son, Michael Sladek and his wife Glenda (Missy), and their two sons, Aaron and Scott; and by her daughter, Jacqueline (Sladek) Howdeshell and her husband Gary, their two daughters, Stevie and Mariah and Stevie's daughter Audra.
