Bio

Herald Coaster, December 22, 1963: Funeral services for Henry Fred Poncik, age 66 years, were held from the Triska Chapel in Rosenberg at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, with Rev. Henry Rachunek officiating. Mr. Poncik was born on Dec. 18, 1896 in Fayette County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Poncik. He moved to Needville in 1925 where he operated a store. For the past three years, he made his home in East Bernard. He passed away Sunday morning following a short illness. Survivors are two sons, Simon Lee Poncik of Bay City and Sylvester Poncik of Needville; three brothers, Louis of Rosenberg, Joe of Pleak, and Paul of Freeport; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Mikolas of Rosenberg, Mrs. Mary Eda of Needville, and Mrs. Julia Lukas of Fayetteville; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Louis Teykl, Eric Tielke, Ladd Stavinoha, S.J. Kneitz, O.F. Kohleffel, and W.J. Raska. Interment was made in the East Garden of Gethsemane in Rosenberg, with Triska Funeral Home in charge.
