Bio

Pud was a great Husband, Father,Brother, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. He loved to play dominoes with all of his friends. He married Jimmie Cox Dec. 8, 1928 in Sylvester. He was a resident of the Jones and Fisher county areas most of his life, moving to Hamlin, Texas in 1951. He was a farmer and later worked as a foreman for many years for the Celotex Corporation in Hamlin, Texas. He and Jimmie successfully raised one daughter, Clara Jo, and six sons, James, Ray, Steve, Kenneth, Lewis, and Terry Lawlis. Edward Alfred (Pud) Lawlis was the son of Alfred Stephen & Cora Lawlis, and grandson of Peter Benton and Sarah Ann (Rhodes) Lawlis. He was the great grandson of James Lawlis who was born in Delaware in 1800 and moved to Indiana, near Columbus.
