William Frank "Bill" Serbus, Jr., was born on 24 September 1929 on the family farm in Henryville Township, Renville County, Minnesota, to William Henry and Barbara Anna Korbel Serbus. William grew up in Henryville Township and attended rural Olivia school. William Frank married Jean Ardell Sheesley on 4 September 1952 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bechyn. After their marriage, they made their home on the farm where Bill was born and he farmed and operated a machine shop there. Bill retired from farming in 1981; but, continued to operate his shop. He enjoyed playing cards and visiting with friends. William Frank "Bill" Serbus, Jr., of rural Olivia, died at the age of 67 on Sunday, 08 June 1997, at his home in rural Olivia, Renville County, Minnesota. Bill was survived by his wife, Jean; sons, Terry (Val) Serbus of Olivia, Randy (Sarah) of Phoenix, Arizona, and Brad (Rose) of Willmar; three grandchildren; and sister, Rose Aschenbrenner of Seattle, Washington. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Helen Shubert. Visitation for William was for one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, 11 June, at the church. The funeral service for William, Jr., was held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 11 June 1997, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia; Reverend Pat Casey officiated. Burial followed in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Olivia, Renville County, Minnesota. Pallbearers were Keith Larsen, Kenneth Busse, Henry Frank, Loren Serbus, Lloyd Serbus, and Jim Serbus.
