Bio

Barbara Anna Korbel was born on 5 December 1893, to John and Anna Barbara Kriz Korbel, in Veseli, Rice County, Minnesota. Barbara married William Henry "Bill" Serbus on 06 February 1923 in Oregon. William was born on 05 June 1897 in Henryville Township, Renville County, Minnesota, to John William and Mary Ann Kubesh Serbus. After their marriage, Barbara and Bill farmed near Bechyn, and raised their three children, Helen, Rosealia "Rose" and William, Jr. Barbara Anna Korbel Serbus died at the age of 81 on Saturday, 18 January 1976, at the Renville County Hospital in Olivia, Renville County, Minnesota. She was survived by her husband, William Henry "Bill" Serbus, Sr., one daughter, Rose (Adrian) Aschenbrenner of Seattle, Washington; son, William Frank Serbus, Jr.; 12 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Julia her daughter, Helen Shubert. The funeral service for Barbara Anna was held on Tuesday, 21 January 1976, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia. Burial followed in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Olivia, Renville County, Minnesota. Pallbearers were Richard Shubert, Terrance Serbus, Randy Serbus, Jerome Fischer, Mike Kelly, and Richard Harter.
