Born Barbora Křížová at Březí #31, Central Bohemia. Daughter of Emanuel & Marie (Stěchová) Kříž. Sister to Marie (Kriz) Marek # 7897889 and Frank Kriz # 180006601. Barbora's family moved to Temelínec and then to Ločenice in Southern Bohemia. She emigrated to America with her sister- and brother-in-law arriving in Baltimore, Maryland on March 15, 1884. She married John Korbel on July 5, 1885 at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Montgomery, MN.
