Bio

John was born in Szynwald, Poland, the son of Ignatius & Marianna (Plebanek) Siemek. His father died when he was one year and eight months old. When he had just turned two, his mother remarried. The family immigrated to the United States arriving in New York City on the ship Pommerania on May 29, 1878. John would have been 11 years old. John married Katherine Bogus at Tarnov, Nebraska, on February 18, 1901. They farmed in the Tarnov area. They had six children: Josephine, Mary, Felix, Celia, Helen and Stella.
