Bio

The Columbus Daily Telegram, Columbus Nebraska January, 1962 TARNOV - Funeral services for Mrs. John Shemek, 79, of Tarnov, were held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's church. The Rev. Narcissus Tarkowski officiated at the Requiem High Mass, and interment was in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Brandenburgh, Carroll Ahrens, Harold Forman of Columbus, Norman and Joe Koza, jr. of Silver Creek and Raymond Stack of Tarnov. Mrs. Shemek was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis and of the Christian Mothers of Sodality, members of which attended in a body. She is survived by a son, Felix, of Tarnov; three daughters, Mrs. Joe Koza, sr., of Silver Creek, and Mrs. Casimir Lassek and Mrs. Charles Forman of Columbus; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Sophie Shemek of Fullerton. She was preceded in death by her husband, she died May 12, 1957, two daughters in infancy; and her parents Contributor: diaNEB (47466150)
