Herald Coaster, November 26, 1984: Funeral services for William (Bill) Talasek, 54, of Matagorda, a former Rosenberg resident, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Rosenberg Brethren Church, with the Rev. Tommy Tallas and the Rev. Bob Dickens officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Talasek, a self-employed building contractor, died Friday in Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital in Richmond following a lengthy illness. Survivors include his wife, Betty Ann Talasek; three daughters, Debra Dresner, Sandra Wheeler, and Kathryn Wleczyk; one son, Bill Talasek; and his mother, Carrie Talasek, all of Rosenberg; one sister, Evelyn Rawlings of Matagorda; three brothers, Marion, Marvin, and Melvin Talasek, all of Matagorda; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were under the direction of Davis-Dawson Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The family requests memorials be made to the Rosenberg Brethren Church.
