Herald Coaster, June 18, 1999: Funeral services for Carrie Julia Talasek, 98, of Bay City, formerly of Fort Bend County, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 21, at the Rosenberg Brethren Church. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Rosenberg. Pallbearers include Mike Talasek, Pete Talasek, Jonathon Talasek, John Talasek, Bill Talasek, Ralph Talasek, Bill Talasek Jr., and Tom Rawlings. Mrs. Talasek was born July 23, 1900 in Colorado County and passed away June 16, 1999 in Bay City. She was a member of the Rosenberg Brethren Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wilford Talasek; her son, Bill Talasek Jr.; and six sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Rawlings of Matagorda; three sons, Marion Talasek and Melvin Talasek, both of Wadsworth and Marvin Talasek of Matagorda; a sister, Della Kocurek of Rosenberg; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
