Bio
Evelyn Valasta Rawlings, 86, of Matagorda passed away June 1, 2008. She was born July 14, 1921 in Temple, Texas to the late William & Carrie Naiver Talasek. She was a member of the Nichols St. Church of Christ in Bay City. Her husband, Ralph Edward Rawlings, preceded her in death in 1999. Survivors include four sons Ralph Edward Rawlings, Jr. of Matagorda, William Lynn Rawlings of Bay City, John Harold Rawlings of Matagorda & Thomas Lee Rawlings of Wharton; three brothers Marion Talasek of Wadsworth, Marvin Talasek of Matagorda & Melvin Talasek of Selkirk; thirteen grandchildren Ralph III, Lee & Annie, Luke & Lisa all of OK, Suzanne & David of Matagorda, Ricky & Kathy, Troy & Michelle, Lynn & Kelly all of Bay City, John, Jr. of Houston, Steven & Jackie of Bay City, Angela of Matagorda, Tammye & Howard of Pflugerville, Matthew of AK, Tommy of Huntsville; seventeen great grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren and special friend Al Richardson. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 7, 2008 at the Nichols St. Church of Christ with Bro. Larry Macomber officiating. Interment will follow at the Matagorda Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives from 7pm to 9pm Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home, TX.
