Mrs. Urban was born June 30, 1924, to Joseph and Kate Vohnout at Tobias. She was educated at the Tobias Public School. She married Rudolph Urban on Sept. 15, 1942, at Broken Bow and they lived on a farm west of Arcadia. Mr. Urban died in 1963 and she stayed on the farm until 1970 when she moved into Arcadia. In 1994, she moved to the Grandview Apartments in Grand Island. Later she moved to Sterling House and then to Park Place where she was living at the time of her death. During her many years in Arcadia, she was active in the Garden Club. After moving to Grand Island, she joined the Third City Christian Church and was active in the Grand Generation Center and the Adult Day Care. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching Nebraska football games, reading and doing word search puzzles. Survivors include her children, Rudy of Omaha, Rose (Mrs. Marvin) Sorensen of Grand Island, Ray of Lexington, Bob of Cozad, Arnold of Leander, Texas, Joyce of Omaha, Louis of Lincoln, James of Grand Island and Nancy of Ord; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
