James E. Urban, 55, passed away Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015. A Celebration of James’ Life will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, in the Gollaher Chapel of Trinity United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Theresa Mason will officiate. Burial of ashes will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Douglas Grove Cemetery at Comstock. All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. James was born Feb. 28, 1960, at Loup City, the son of Rudolph and Pauline Urban. James was the youngest son and second youngest child. Those we lift up in prayer are his wife, Celia; his brothers and sisters, Rose and Marvin Sorensen, Ray and Sandy Urban, Bob and Gena Urban, Arnold Urban, Joyce Urban, and Louis Urban; parents-in-law, Paul and Rita Wagner; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Denise and Keith Koertje, Craig and Lori Wagner, Joan Wagner, Jerome and Terri Wagner, Roger and Sherry Wagner, Sara and Jerry Sukup, Lee and Donna Wagner, Donovan and Jackie Wagner, and Brett Wagner; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and friends. James has been welcomed into heaven by his parents; a brother, Rudy; and his little sister, Nancy. James was raised in Arcadia and graduated from Arcadia High School in 1978. He later graduated from Kearney State College. James was inducted into the Arcadia Husky Wall of Fame. Jim went to work for Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska as an Accounting Clerk, working his way up to the position of Chief Financial Officer. He retired in March 2014 after 31 years. Jim never forgot Goodwill’s mission and Goodwill’s participants. He was very proud to be a part of the wonderful team he worked with. While working at Goodwill Industries, he met Celia Wagner in 1993. To their mutual satisfaction, they were married on Sept. 2, 1995, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Grand Island, with both of their families in joyful attendance. James loved family, his family, Celia’s family, their family. If Jim was in your vicinity, he wanted to know about you, your day, and your life. Everything was of interest to him, especially faith. In Jim’s own way, he was a man with a very deep faith. Jim was an enthusiastic and vocal fan of the traditions of the University of Nebraska sports. He shared his knowledge and opinion of all things Huskers with anyone who would listen. Jim was our spark plug. He didn’t want his health to be an issue or a hindrance. He loved to travel and see new places and things, including numerous football game trips. Jim did not let his health deter him from being an avid golfer. Most of all, he loved Celia. He said many times that she was his shining star. He felt he was the luckiest man on earth to have been married to her these 20 years.
