Bio

Irene Valere Ann Kibler, 89, of Noel, Mo., departed this life on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at the Joplin Health and Rehabilitation Facility, Joplin, Mo., following an illness. Irene began her journey on April 18, 1918, in Milligan, Neb., born to the late Joseph and Kathryn Vohnout. Her family is of the Czechoslovakian decent. In 1941 Irene purchased Frank's Cleaners (now known as Noel Cleaners) in Noel, Mo., and sold the business in 1999. She later owned and operated Irene's Alterations in Noel, Mo., for several years before retiring. Irene was very dedicated to her work, family and home. She has been a member of the Catholic Church of the Nativity in Noel, Mo., since moving to Noel. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, M.W. "Tex" Kibler; one son, Merlyn Dale Allpress; one brother, Joe Vohnout; and one great-granddaughter, Davina Webb Van Houden. Irene is survived by her children, Jean Rae Hook and husband, Vernon, of Noel, Mo., Katie Nordyke and husband, Mark, of Lubbock, Texas, and Nancy Stone of Noel, Mo.; a step-daughter, DeeAnne Marchbank and husband, Bob, of Tulsa, Okla.; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; along with numerous friends and neighbors. Funeral Mass for Irene Kibler was held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at the Church of the Nativity in Noel, Mo. Father John Braun officiated. A Private family burial followed the service at the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City, Mo. Friends paid their respects Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, from 6 until 7:30 p.m. A Rosary Service was held at 7:30 p.m. at the Walker-Dowd Funeral Home, Anderson, Mo. Memorial contributions in memory of Irene may be given to the Church of the Nativity of Noel, Mo., in care of the funeral home. Arrangements were under the personal care of Walker-Dowd Funeral Home, of Anderson, Mo.
