'''''''''' The Banner-Press (David City, Nebr.), June 5, 1975, p. 14, col. 1 Services Held For Mrs. Mary Wittera Funeral services for Mary Wittera, 88, Bruno, were conducted Tuesday morning, May 27, from St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Bruno. Mrs. Wittera died Friday, May 23, at the Madonna Home in Lincoln after being a patient in Lincoln General Hospital six weeks following major surgery. Rev. Stanley Schieffer officiated at the service. Mrs Thomas Divis, organist, accompanied the St. Anthony choir. Altar boys were Jerome Miratsky, Danny Engel, John Proskovec, Ed Sabata and Loran Stara. Lector was John Miratsky. Gift bearers at offertory were six of the great-grandchildren, Michael Roubal, David, Denise and Debbie Engel and Steven and Patrick Osmera. Altar Society members attended in a body. Pallbearers were James and Joseph Miratsky, Daniel Engel, Richard Roubal, Ernest Osmera and Ben Bohuslavsky. Burial was in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Bruno. Mary, the daughter of Vaclav and Mary Kobza, was born Jan. 3, 1887, at Abie. She attended rural school near Abie. On Nov. 17, 1908, she was united in marriage to Vaclav Wittera, at St. Anthony's Church, Bruno. They were the parents of one daughter, Estella. Her married life was spent on a farm east of Bruno, moving into Bruno 30 years ago. She was a member of St. Anthony's Church, Bruno, and a member of the Altar Society. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Estella Miratsky of Bruno; eight grandchildren, Mrs. Dan (Janet) Engel of Bruno, Mrs. Richard (Judy) Roubal of Lincoln, Mrs. Ernest (Joan) Osmera of Weston and Mrs. Ben (Jeanne) Bohuslavsky of Omaha, James, Joseph and Jerome of Bruno and John of Abie; and 14 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Vaclav; son-in-law, James Miratsky; grandson, Jimmy Anthony Miratsky; parents, brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
