Herald Coaster, June 8, 1998: Graveside services for Evelyn Hein, 79, of Rosenberg, were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 8, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Rosenberg. The Rev. Ron Rosenkaimer officiated. Mrs. Hein was born on May 5, 1919 in Austin County to Edward and Antonia Netzel. She died Saturday, May 6, 1998, at Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital. She was a charter member of the First Christian Church. She served as a crossing guard from 1957-77 at the Robert E. Lee Elementary School. She was a model mother and an example to other mothers. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also loved gardening and flowers, and was an excellent cook. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.P. Hein. She is survived by sons, Wilbur Hein and wife, Frances, of Rosenberg, and Leonard P. "Todda" and wife, Jan, of Angleton; grandchildren, Paul Hein and wife, Sandra, of Rosenberg, Greg Hein and wife, Joy, of Bellville, and Matt Hein of Angleton; great-grandchildren, Sean, Kaleigh, and Morgan Hein of Rosenberg, Nicholas and Noel Hein of Angleton; brother, Vern Netzel and wife, Ruby, of Brazoria; sister, Rosa Hafer of Richmond; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family requests that memorials be made to the Visiting Nurses Association, 1601 Main Ste. #401, Richmond 77469, or to the Houston Hospice at Fort Bend County, 301 South 9th St., Ste #110-112, Richmond 77469.
