Bio

Herald Coaster, October 1, 1979: Funeral services for Roland Netzel, 64, of Stafford, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Garmany Carden Funeral Home Chapel in Rosenberg, with the Rev. Howard Gates, pastor of First Baptist Church in Rosenberg, officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Netzel was found dead at his home on Friday. It was determined that he died Sept. 17. He was a native of Austin County and had previously lived in Rosenberg. He was a heavy equipment operator. Survivors include three daughters, Loyce Agee of Houston, Delores Houser of Grapeland, and Linda Leamons of West Columbia; six grandchildren; mother, Antonia Netzel of Richmond; two brothers, Floyd Netzel of West Columbia and Verne Netzel of Brazoria; two sisters, Rosa Lee Hafer of Richmond and Evelyn Hein of Rosenberg.
