Bio

Albina Zbranek Fajkus of El Campo died March 6, 2010 at the age of 87. She was born on July 27, 1922 in Nada to the late Ignac and Mary Prihoda Zbranek. She was a homemaker and a member of the CDA, KJZT and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her son, Mel Fajkus of Austin; daughters, Betty Janish of Nada, Evelyn Janish of Austin, Marilyn Glover of Austin, Delores Kurtz of Irving, Rose Lobnitz of Sunnyvale, Annette Smith of El Campo, and Gloria Brandl of El Campo; sisters, Leona Shimek of Wharton, Edith Kainer of Nada, and Viola Kaluza of Nada; 22 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin Fajkus Sr.; brother, Ben Zbranek; sister, Lydia Fucik. Visitation will begin at noon on Wednesday, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., at Triska Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Janak officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Nada under the direction of Triska Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Christopher House-Hospice Austin, 2820 E.
