Wendelin R. Wittman, 82, Topeka, died Friday, Dec. 28, 1990 at a Topeka nursing home. He was born May 27, 1908 at St. Peter in Graham County, the son of Frank and Katherine Scheck Wittman. Mr. Wittman was self-employed 30 years with Schreiner-Wittman Contruction. He retired in 1972. Mr. Wittman was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He was a Third Degree Knight of Columbus and a member of James W. Gibbons Assembly of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He played the dulcimer for local wedding dances. He was married to Lidwina Schreiner April 25, 1933 at Assmumption Catholic Church in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors incude a daughter, Marilyn Bennett, Lincoln, Neb.; three sons, Gerald Wittman, Elmer Wittman and Wayne Wittman, all of Topeka; three sisters, Matilda Wittman, Adelia Rohr and Ida Zimmerman, all of Topeka; three brothers, John Wittman, Sacramento, Calif., Elmer Wittman, Quinter, and Victor Wittman, Topeka; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Wittman will lie in state from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Brennan Funeral Home where rosaries will be recited by the Parish at 5 p.m., Daughters of Isabella Little Flower Circle 503 at 5:30 p.m., Third Degree and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus at 6 p.m., and Ladies of Columbus at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
