Fort Bend Herald, December 15, 2013: Funeral services for Alvin H. Sykora, 79, of Rosenberg, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. until service time, with a rosary being recited at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2013. Alvin was born October 19, 1934 in Fort Bend County to Cyrill Jerome Sykora and Emma Sophia (Chudej) Sykora. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Richmond and the Knights of Columbus in Rosenberg. He was also a union member with Cooper, formerly WKM. He passed away December 12, 2013 in Sugar Land. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cyrill and Emma Sykora; and siblings, Jeanette Fajkus, Virginia Bohacek, Marzline Walzel, Daniel Sykora and Johnny Sykora. He is survived by his wife of nearly 47 years, Judith "Judy" Sykora; siblings, Larry Sykora and wife, Shirley and Georgie Ann Lindemann; sister-in-law, Barbara Sykora; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Pallbearers will include Dale Lindemann, David Lindemann, Malcolm Lindemann, Daryl Lindemann, Carroll Fajkus, Chris Sykora and Mark Alonso. Donations may be made in memory of Alvin to the American Lung Association, 2030 N. Loop West, Suite 250, Houston, Texas, 77018 or to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 507 South 4th Street, Richmond, Texas, 77469.
