Herald Coaster, October 1, 1999: Funeral services for Emma Evans, 84, of Rosenberg, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Davis Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Rev. Larry Howie will officiate the services. Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Boulevard, FM 2218 and Highway 59, in Rosenberg. She was born Jan. 13, 1915 in Groesbeck in Limestone County, and she passed away Sept. 25, 1999. Emma was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and a retired food service employee of the Lamar Independent School District. Her husband, parents, four brothers, four sisters, and one granddaughter preceded her in death She is survived by her son, Jesse Evans and his wife, Lennette, of Jackson, Ala.; her daughters, Irma Lanier and her husband, Carroll, of Brenham and Joan Jankowiak of Rosenberg; her sisters, Helen Guyet of Rosenberg and Irene Mansel of Sweeny; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Her grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Building Fund of Rosenberg.
