Funeral services for Mary A. Brandl, 75, who died Friday, Jan. 8 at the Osmond hospital after an illness of three weeks following a heart attack, were conducted Jan. 11 at St. Ludger Catholic Church. The Rev. James Fitzgeald officiated. Burial was in St. Ludger Cemetery. Mary Anna Brandl, daughter of John and Francis Brandl, was born Dec. 22, 1895, at Wausa. She attended rural school in the Wausa area and St. Andrew's School in Bloomfield. On March 30, 1913, she was married to George Brandl of Humphrey at St. Andrew's Church in Bloomfield. Seven children were born to them. They lived near Humphrey until 1922, when they moved to O'Neill. In 1926, they moved to a farm nine miles east and one north of Creighton. Here she spent the remainder of her life. She was a member of the Crossroads Club over 25 years. Surviving are her childen, Elveria (Peter) Kaufmann of Omaha, Henrietta (Leo) McBride of Las Vegas, Nev., Miss Elizabeth, Norris, Edward and Percy, all of Creighton and Eugene, address unknown.; 14 grandchildren; three sisters, Edna (Charley) Pospisil of Wausa, Lena (Othmar) Gilsdorf of Bloomfield, Dora (Ray) Coates of Osmond and two brothers, Frank of Madison and Albert of Lodgepole.
