Bio

Funeral service for Percy A. Brandl, 89, of Creighton will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 15, 2023 at the St. Ludger Catholic Church in Creighton. Father Dan Wittrock will be officiating. Interment will be held at the parish cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at church. Percy passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the Avera Creighton Hospital. Percy was born on March 25, 1934, on the family farm east of Creighton, to George and Mary Brandl. Percy loved a good game of black jack or any card game that he could wager a bet on. He enjoyed trips to Sioux City with Jo Radosti and Lyle Pospisil to pick up new money for the American National Bank which always led them to a casino and a great steak. Percy's sister Dolly was always at his side keeping track of all the pro football games and his bets. He shared many stories of their ice fishing trips out West and on the Missouri River. He was proud of his turkeys they would raise and their black lab "Ted". Bowling and local dirt track racing back in the day always led to many late evenings and lots of laughter. Percy will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
