Turek was born May 4, 1916 at Ord, Nebraska to Joseph and Frances Parkos Vasicek and died July 15, 1982 at the Valley County Hospital in Ord, Nebraska at the age of 66. Georgia grew up on the family farm near Ord where she attended rural school at District #67, and later the Ord High School. She was united in marriage to Jimmie F. Turek Jr., September 2, 1936 at Ord. They made their home on a farm near Ord until 1966 when they retired from farming and moved into town. After her husband's death in 1972, Georgia spent much of her time caring for other people who were shut-ins until her ill health forced her retirement. Georgia was a member of the First Christian Church of Ord and the Christian Companions class. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Darlene) Severance of Ord; three sons, Jerome and Milton, both of Ord, and James of Fremont; seven grandchildren; and three brothers, Jimmy Vasicek of Ord, Jerry Vasicek of Madison, and Leo Vasicek of Council Bluffs, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one infant brother. Funeral services were held Saturday July 17, 1982 at 2:30 pm at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Burial was in the Ord Bohemian Cemetery
