Herald Coaster, August 6, 1995: Funeral services for Evelyn Mary Blinka Christ, 67, of Rosenberg, will be held Monday, August 7, 1995, at 10 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Rosenberg. The Rev. Don Kolkmeier will officiate the services. She was born October 27, 1927 in Colorado County, Texas and passed away August 4, 1995 in Houston, Texas. She was the owner and operator of Christ Korner in Pleak for 20 years. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, V.F.W. Ladies' Auxiliary Post 3903, and lifetime member of the Fort Bend County Fair. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Rosie Blinka, and a sister, Rosalie Blinka. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Richard T. Christ, of Rosenberg. Other survivors include two daughters, Lynda Matcek and husband, John T., of Fairchilds, and Rose Askew and husband, Andy, of Guy; two sons, Richard T. Christ Jr. and wife, Cindy, of Guy, and Robert (Bobby) Christ and wife, Linda, of Fairchilds; eight grandchildren, Christy Matcek, John E. Matcek, Michael Kelly, Corey Kelly, Laramie Christ, Cassidy Christ, Drew Askew, and Aprile Mathis; three great-grandchildren, Mitchell Scott Midkiff, Brittany McCurdy, and Lauren Matcek; two sisters, Dorothy Kuban and husband, Edward, of Needville, and Willie May Kuykendall of Rosenberg; and five brothers, Milton Blinka and wife, Edith, of Conroe, Alvin Blinka and wife, Darleen, of Rosenberg, Johnnie Blink and wife, Georgie, of Rosenberg, Jerry Blinka and wife, Dorothy, of Rosenberg, and Sidney Blinka and wife, Mildred, of Richmond. Pallbearers were Alvin Blinka Jr., Michael Blinka, Eddie Kuban, Thomas Kuykendall, Albert Urbanek Jr., and Bryntin Urbanek. Calvin Horak will be honorary pallbearer. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ, 1513 West, Rosenberg, TX 77471, or Hospice at the Texas Medical Center, 1905 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030.
