Herald Coaster, August 22, 2004: Funeral services for Milton Blinka, 81, of Rosenberg, will be held on Monday, August 23, 2004, at 10 a.m. at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. The Rev. Jack Livingston and Charles Kalhomey will officiate the services. Visitation will begin on Sunday, Aug. 22, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Milton was born August 19, 1923 in Colorado County to John Blinka and Rosie Kaspar Blinka. He was raised in Fort Bend County. He passed away August 19, 2004 in Richmond. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Rosenberg. Milton was a member of American Legion Post 271 and VFW Post 3903. He served in World War II from 1943 to 1946. While stationed in England, he drove for the Army 91st general hospital. While in Germany, Milton was a sergeant in the motor pool for the 7th Army Headquarters. After his discharge, he worked in the drilling and oil field service industry. Starting as a "roughneck," he retired in 1998 as Vice-President of Golden Rule Well Service. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosie Blinka; sisters, Evelyn Christ and Rose Blinka; and brother-in-law, Thomas Kuydendall Sr. Milton is survived by daughters, Theresa Peikert and husband, Lawrence, of Fairchilds, Beatrice Kalkomey and husband, Charles, of Sealy, Penny Morrow and husband, Eric, of Rosenberg; grandchildren, Julie Williams of Pennsylvania, Jeffrey Williams of Rosenberg, Gregory Morrow of Rosenberg, Jeremy Morrow of Rosenberg, Charles Kalkomey, Jr. and wife, Stephanie, of Plano, Craig Kalkomey of Sealy; great grandchildren, Tanner, Sebastian, and Geoffrey Williams of Rosenberg; brothers, Alvin Blinka, Sr. and wife, Darlene, of Rosenberg, Johnnie Blinka and wife, Georgia, of Rosenberg, Sidney Blinka and wife, Mildred, of Richmond, Jerry Blinka and wife, Dorothy, of Rosenberg; sisters, Willie Mae Kukendall of Richmond, and Dorothy Kuban and husband, Edward, of Needville; and other relatives and many friends.
