Bio

Herald Coaster, December 21, 1971: Funeral services have been set for 2 p.m. Wednesday for Guss W. Schonert, 87, a Needville resident who died Monday in a Wharton hospital. A retired farmer, he had celebrated his 65th wedding anniversary Dec. 12. Survivors include his wife, Mary; daughters, Mrs. Roxie Jacobe of Tyler, Henrietta Sebesta of Needville; sons, Ervin of Rosenberg, Bennie of Bronson, and Henry of Needville; 22 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and two nieces. Rev. Ernest Harris will officiate at the service to be held at the First United Methodist Church of Needville. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Garmany and Co. Chapel in Needville.
