Decatur, IL Herald-Review, 27 Jul 2003 MOWEAQUA - James Harold Gaither Sr., 83, of Moweaqua died 12:09 p.m. Friday (July 25, 2003) in St. Mary's Hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua, with Pastor Mark Weber officiating. The family requests casual dress. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Moweaqua. Memorials: First Christian Church Youth Ministry or St. John's Home Health Care & Hospice. Jim was born Oct. 17, 1919, in Obid, the son of David A. and Allie Kemp Gaither. He was affiliated with First Christian Church and was a retired farmer. Jim married Alleen Lamm on Jan. 8, 1938, in Vincennes, Ind. Surviving are his wife; sons, James Jr. of Wausau, Fla.; Larry and wife Irma of Decatur; daughters, Barbara Grantham and husband Dana of Butler; Nancy Shaw and husband Warren of Decatur; Mary Lou Boles and husband Terry of Mount Zion; brothers, Lawrence of Taylorville; Lyle of Moweaqua; sisters, Ruth McLain and Lena Tinsley and husband Alex, both of Indiana; Darlene Jones and husband Floyd of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
