Mr. Howle was born in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. He married Louvinia Burson in Tallapoosa County on November 25, 1877. His father was Thomas E. L. Howle, who was killed in the Civil War, at the Battle of Ezra Church, north of Atlanta, during Sherman's March. His body was left on the field, and never returned home. Thomas E. L. Howle has a memorial at the County Line Baptist Church in Elmore County, Alabama, where other family members are buried. The exact year of his birth is unknown, and varies a little from source to source. The August 1857 used on this memorial comes from the 1900 U. S. census in Grayson County. Thomas P. Howle's brother, Blount Hampton Howle, was married to Caroline Burson. She was an older sister to Louvinia Burson Howle. ---------------------------------------------------------- HOWLE - Sherman, Tx., May 2, 1911 - A telegram received here today announced the death of Tom P.
