Newspaper source unknown but most likely the Hebron or Deshler paper: Services for a prominent Hebron businessman, George H. Virus, were held at Grace Lutheran Church, Saturday, June 14. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Virus, who had been manager of George Virus, Inc., the International Harvester farm equipment agency in Hebron for nearly twenty years, passed away Thursday, June 12 after a lengthy illness. Mr. Virus was born at Smith Center, Kansas November 27, 1909, the son of Frank and Dora Hoffmeyer Virus. He was baptized there December 19, 1909 and came with his family to Hebron in 1917. May 10, 1925, he was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church, Hebron, and remained an active and devoted member throughout his lifetime. He had served on the church council and other offices of the church. Active in the civic affairs of the community he had served as a member of the Hebron City Council, Board of Education, ASCS Committee, Lions and Elks. In addition to his wife and two daughters he is survived by two sisters and five brothers, all Hebron. Also surviving are five grandchildren. Rev. Douglas Allen officiated at funeral services with the church choir singing 'Just As I Am" and "our God Is Great." while the congregation sang, "O Take My Hand, Dear Father."
