Bio
Franz came to the USA on the ship Berlin arriving from Bremen and South Hampton, Germany to Baltimore, Maryland on June 18, 1873. He came with his parents and sister Emilie and brother Paul when he was 3 years old. They settled in Iron Mountain, Missouri where his Mother died. His Father and siblings then moved near other family in Thayer County, Nebraska. The Lincoln Star (Nebraska) May 16, 1965 - Sunday VIrus--Frank, 96, retired farmer, died at Blue Valley Lutheran Home Saturday. Survivors: sons, Henry, George, Ernest, Ludwig and Walter, all of Hebron, Herman of Hubbell; daughters, Mrs. Augusta Engel, Mrs. Tom O'Connell, of Hebron; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Christ Lutheran Church. Burial: Rose Hill, Hebron, Rev. John Minneman. Montgomery-Tibbetts-Cotter, Geneva.
