Bio

Services for Mary Sumbera, 83, of Megarbel were held at St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church at Megargel. She and Richard Sumbera were married in Megargel on 23 February 1943. He preceded her in death. She was retired and had worked as a nurses aide at Hamilton Hospital in earlier years. She was a lifetime resident of Megargel, a member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church, KJZT and the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary. Survived by one son - Ben Sumbera of Grand Paririe; one daughter - Bernice Gowens of Abilene, one brother - Joe Cernosek of Graham, three sisters - Martha Shelley of Olney, Ann Shimek of Lubbock, Agnes Kovar of Rosenburg; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
