Bio

Alvin V. Kubin, 79, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home in Ennis, on Friday, January 11, 2013, surrounded by his family. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2013, with a Rosary at 7 p.m., in Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Ennis, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Monday, January 14, 2013, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Ennis with Father John Dick as Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Alvin Victor was born in Ennis, Texas, to the late John Frank and Rosie (Zajic) Kubin. He married Geraldine Kriska on July 31, 1959, and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Alvin loved doing yard work, gardening, working at the farm, and traveling. He was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and the Golden Crusaders. He is preceded in death by his brother, John Kubin; and sisters, Mildred Hubacek and Vlasta Knize. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Geraldine; daughters, Karen Gist and her husband, Dwayne, Julie Ryan and her husband, Harter, and Kristi Vitek and her husband, Mark; son, Michael Kubin; grandchildren, Gillian Ryan and Griffin Ryan; sisters, Wilma Kasper, Ardrie Honza, Adail Parma, and Geraldine Nekuza; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
