Bio
Geraldine C. Kubin, 86, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital, Waxahachie, Texas surrounded by her loving children. Geraldine was born in Ennis, Texas on November 25, 1938, to Willie and Mary (Honza) Kriska. Geraldine grew up in Bardwell, Texas and graduated from St. John's High School in 1957. Geraldine began her career at Southwestern Bell in Dallas. She later married the love of her life, Alvin Kubin, and eventually left her career to focus on raising their children. Geraldine was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, KJZT, and Golden Crusaders. One of Geraldine's happy places was her family farm in Bardwell where she would spend many hours riding in her golf cart overseeing her garden and current crops and teaching her young grandchildren how to pull carrots and roast marshmallows. Her other happy place was her kitchen where she loved to cook and can the fresh vegetables from her Bardwell garden. Her friends and neighbors were very special to her and she enjoyed the visits, meals, and laughter they all shared together. Geraldine is preceded in death by her husband Alvin Kubin, parents Willie and Mary Kriska, and brother Billy Kriska. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 6 pm to 8 pm, with a Rosary at 7 pm, at the Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home, Ennis. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery with a celebration of her life immediately after at Sokol Hall.
