Kenneth Phillip Berkey, 99, of Hubbard, died on Oct. 24, 2013 in his home. He was born in Hubbard to John and Grace (Troyer) Berkey on Feb. 25, 1914. He married Lilly Lais on June 20, 1941 at Zion Mennonite Church, where he was a lifetime member. Kenneth shared ownership in the Needy Brick and Tile Company for 64 years. He was active in his church as an elder and teacher. He was devoted to his family and a generous contributor to local and international missions. Kenneth is survived by daughters Jeanne Heyerly (Indiana), Linda Abraham (Kimberly), Grace Stutzman (Hubbard), Karen Amstutz (Hubbard) and Anita Berkey (California); sisters Ruth Hostetler (Canby) and Helen Reznicsek (Woodburn); brother Richard Berkey (Molalla); and 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Lilly, son Peter Berkey, sisters Kathryn Yoder, Gladys Heyerly, Blanche Heyerly, brothers Willis, Derben, Johnny and Stephen, and one grandson.
