Bio
Loomis H Usry, 70, a retired automobile salesman, died of heart failure Tuesday at Rankin Medical Center. Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl with burial in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton is assisting with arrangements. Mr. Usry, a Lake native, had lived in the Jackson area since 1946. He had been a member of Riverside Bible Church in Jackson since its inception. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was former owner of Briarwood Gulf Service in Jackson for many years. He was a salesman for Rogers-Dingus Chevrolet Co. for 16 years before he retired because of illness. Survivors include: wife, Kay; sons, Van Usry of Atlanta and Ron Sauer of Chicago; daughters, Barbara Posey of Jackson and Debbie Morgan of Akron, Ohio; brothers, Barto Usry of Jackson, Earl Usry of Atlanta and Marvin Usry of Brandon; sisters, Bemice Simmons of Morton and Ruth Dennis and Linda Simmons, both of Jackson; and eight grandchildren.
