Catherine was born in South Omaha, Nebraska to Patrick Joseph Hassett and Marie "Minnie" Barry-Martin. Catherine was married to Roy P. Mahoney on August 15, 1916 at Trinity Baptist Church, in Omaha, and they had nine children. -------------------------------------------- MAHONEY—Mrs. Catherine C., age 75 years, residence, 3726½ R St., September 30, 1968. Survived by husband, Roy; sons, Roy, Jr., and Gerald Mahoney, Campbell, Cal., George Mahoney, Hawaii; daughters, Mrs. Duane (Dorothy) Harris, Campbell, Cal., Mrs. John (Marie) Munnelly, Mrs. Charles (Elizabeth) Collins, Mrs. Joseph (Margaret) Velasquez, Mrs. Thomas (Colleen) Berry, all of Omaha, Mrs. Joe (Irene) Gicento, Kansas City, Mo.; sisters, Mrs. Marge Breunsbach, Mrs. Helen Lawyer [sic], Omaha; 40 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
