Patrick was born in Knockbeha (An Cnoc Beitheach) Townland, Co. Clare, Ireland (United Kingdom) to Patrick Hassett and Margaret Kelly. He was baptized on Jan. 8, 1860, in Killanena (Caher Feakle) Parish. He immigrated to the United States in 1879. Patrick was married to Jane Hanrahan in about 1885 in South Omaha, Nebraska, and they had five children, of which only one lived to adulthood. After her death due to complications of childbirth, Patrick was married to Marie "Minnie" Martin (née Barry) on May 11, 1897, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in South Omaha, and they had six children. Minnie also had two children from a previous marriage, of which only one had survived to adulthood. Patrick worked for Armour-Cudahy Packing Company in South Omaha. -------------------------------------------- HASSETT—Patrick, age 57 years, at 4802 S. 39th St. Survived by his wife, Minnie, two sons, Patrick, jr., and Thomas. Also five daughters, Mrs. Roy [Catherine] Mahoney, Mrs. John [Hannah] Shubert, Mrs. Archie [Helen] Lawzer [sic], Mrs. Fred [Margaret] Schmidt and Mrs. M. C. [Marie] McSmith.
