Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), September 16, 1937, p. 1, col. 4 LINWOOD WOMAN PASSED ON Death of Mrs. Anna Cihacek, a Long-Time Resident. Linwood, Sept. 15 - Mrs. Anna Cihacek, long-time resident of Linwood and vicinity, passed away early Sunday morning, Sept. 12, after illness of three weeks due to infirmities of her advanced age of nearly 80 years. She had enjoyed good health until the time of her last illness. Funeral services were conducted at St. Mary's Catholic church in Linwood Tuesday morning, Sept. 14, by the pastor, Rev. Father Kasny. Six grandsons of Mrs. Cihacek, George Cihacek, Albin Cihacek, Emil Cihacek, Leonard Vavra, Lemer Tichacek and Frank Vybiral, were pallbearers. Burial was in the Linwood Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Cihacek was born October 25, 1857, in Moravia, where she grew to young womanhood and was married to Julius Cihacek in 1879. They came to America in 1881 and located on a farm near Linwood, being residents of Butler county the rest of their lives, with the exception of a few years spent in Dodge county. They retired from farm life in 1915 and moved to Linwood, where Mr. Cihacek passed away two years later. Surviving Mrs. Cihacek are ten children, eight sons and two daughters, namely, Raymond Cihacek of Oklahoma City, Okla., John Cihacek of Morse Bluff, Joseph Cihacek of Howells, William Cihacek of Modale, Iowa, Vincent Cihacek of Abie, Henry Cihacek of Omaha, Mrs. Bessie Litty of Sterling, Colo., and Frank Cihacek, Louis Cihacek and Mrs. Tillie Vavra of Linwood. She also leaves 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. ____ Card of Thanks - We wish to express our heartfelt thanks for all the kindness and help shown us during illness and at time of death of our dear mother, also for the many beautiful floral offerings.
