ILL FOR SEVERAL WEEKS ——— IN HOSPITAL IN COLUMBUS ——— Vincent A. Cihacek of Abie Passed Away Monday, Jan. 19 ——— Abie, Jan. 21—Vincent A. Cihacek, 56 years of age, lifetime resident of Butler county, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, in St. Mary's hospital, Columbus, where he had been a patient for five weeks of his 11 weeks of illness from infection of the vertebrae. Funeral services, in charge of Rev. Marek of Wahoo, were held in Abie Wednesday afternoon at the home at 1:30 o'clock and at the National hall at 2 o'clock. Singing was by George and Vorginia Novacek of Schuyler. Burial was in the National cemetery at Abie. Born December 22, 1885, on a farm west of Abie, Mr. Cihacek grew to young manhood there and on May 12, 1913, was married in David City to Sophie Krivanek. They resided on a farm near Abie for 12 years before moving to Abie, where Mr. Cihacek followed the trade of carpenter. He was a member of the Z. C. B. J. lodge, the school board and the village board and had many friends. Surviving Mr. Cihacek are Mrs. Cihacek and three daughters, Miss Libbie of Schuyler, Mrs. Frank Vybiral of Colon and Mrs. Milo Krondak of Prague; two grandchildren, Phyllis and Carol Vybiral; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Vavra of Linwood and Mrs. Litty of Colorado; and five brothers, Joe of Howells, Frank and Louis of Linwood, John of Morse Bluffs and Raymond of Washington, D.C.
