Bio

Barbara Mary Stemper was born November 14, 1880 in Biren, Luxemberg (sic) and passed away at the Thayer County Memorial Hospital Friday, Oct. 28, 1955. Age 74 years, 11 months and 14 days. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Michael Stemper. They came to America when she was two years old and settled near Table Rock. She was married to John Weber May 10, 1988 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Steinauer, where they made their home. Nine children were born to this union: Nickolas, Richmond, Calif.; Lawrence, Lincoln; Raymond, Hebron and Richard of Seneca, Kas. Daughers: Mrs. Lillian Haugsness, Seneca, Kas.; Mrs. Mildred Calhoun, Hastings; Mrs. Rita Stoltenberg, of Fremont, and Mrs. Dorothy White, Hebron. A son, John Jr., of oPrtland (sic), Ore., preceeded his mother in death, Oct. 5, 1955. Mr. and Mrs. Weber moved to Hebron in January 1917, and made their home on a farm south of town. They moved into Hebron in 1944. Three brothers: Henry and Nicholas of Lincoln and Frank of Bellewood survive her. Also four sisters: Mrs. Lena Andrews, Axtel, Kas.; Mrs. Matt Brucker, Oketa, Kans.; Miss Anna Stemper, Bellewood and Mrs. Elizabeth Lindberg, Manhattan, Kans. A sister, Mary, preceeded her in death. Mr. and Mrs. Weber celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1949, at which time all the children were present; also 38 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, Oct., (sic) 3`, at 9:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, Hebron. Six grandchildren acted as pall bearers. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
