Bio

Rita B. Stoltenberg, 94, of Fremont, died Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Arbor Manor in Fremont. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. The Rev. Dave Belt will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A vigil service will be at 7 p.m., all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue on Wednesday one hour prior to the service time at the church. She was born July 11, 1916, at Steinauer to John and Barbara (Stemper) Weber. Rita Weber married John H. Stoltenberg Feb. 12, 1936, at Hebron. John died Aug. 6, 1998. Survivors of the immediate family include sons, Jim and wife Nancy Stoltenberg of Fremont and Robert "Fred" and wife Mary Jane Stoltenberg of Grand Island; a daughter, Eleanor Stoltenberg of Fremont; and six grandchildren. Other survivors include 10 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Weber of Seneca, Kan. She graduated from Hebron High School at Hebron. After marriage she moved to Schuyler and then in 1940 they moved to Fremont. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; five brothers; three sisters; three infant sons; and one infant daughter. Memorials may be directed to Calvary Cemetery or donor's choice.
