John Weber, 25, born Germany, son of Nicholas & Kate (Ceinett) Weber, and Barbara M. Stemper, 19, born Germany, daughter of Mike & Alice (Smith) Stemper, were married May 10, 1899 at St. Anthony's Church at Steinauer. (Source: Pawnee County, NE Marriage Records) ====================== The Hebron Journal-Register (Hebron, NE), Wednesday, July 25, 1962; pg. 1 Obituary - John Weber John Weber was born August 17, 1873 in Beyren Luxenberg, Germany and passed away at the Thayer County Memorial Hospital Wednesday, July 18, 1962, at the age of 88 years, 10 months and 30 days. His parents were Nicholas Weber and Katherine Ziemetz Weber. He came to America with his father at the age of 14 and settled near Atkinson, Nebraska. Sometime later he moved to Table Rock, then Steinauer. He was married to Barbara Mary Stemper May 10, 1899 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Steinauer, where they made their home. Nine children were born to this union: Laurence, Lincoln, Raymond, Hebron, Richard, Seneca, Kansas, Mrs. Lillian Haugsness, Seneca, Mrs. Mildred Calhoun, Hastings, Mrs. Rita Stoltenberg, Fremont, and Mrs. Dorothy White Hebron. Two sons preceded their father in death, Nickolas M. and John, Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Weber moved to Hebron in January 1917 and made their home on a farm south of Hebron. They moved into town in 1944. Mrs. Weber passed away October, 28, 1955. Mr. Weber's parents, three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. One sister, Mrs. Louise Wenzl lives in Los Angeles, California. He also leaves 38 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Hebron. Six grandsons acted as pallbearers: Donald Weber, Danny Weber, Billie Ray Weber, Charles Weber, Fred Stoltenberg, and Richard Haugsness. Internment in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
