Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent Tuesday, 19 February 1974 Clyde E. McIntosh, a resident of ...and a retired trucker, died Sunday in a local hospital following a long illness. Funeral rites will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Kenneth Hicks will officiate. Interment will be in Grand Island City Cemetery... Clyde E. McIntosh was born April 30, 1894, at Marquette, the son of Robert and Margaret Decker McIntosh. He grew to manhood and received his education in the community of his birth. In 1916 he came to Grand Island and worked in the construction business. Later he was employed by the Hoops Trucking firm and worked for them for 27 years before his retirement. He and Miss Marion Russel were married July 9, 1941 at Grant. They made their only home in Grand Island. His wife died Oct. 5, 1973. Mr. McIntosh was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. He is survived by two sons, Donald of Hastings and D. J. McIntosh of Idaho; one daughter, Mrs. Viola Bottorf of Grand Island; six brothers, Clinton of Marquette, James of Long Beach, Calif., Fay of Grand Island, Orville of Casper, Wyo., Rueben of North Platte, and Joe of Morongo Valley, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Andrew Young of Grand Island; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one brothers.
