Thanks to contributor #45121007 NORTH PLATTE -- Reuben A. McIntosh, 86, of North Platte, formerly of Grand Island, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, at Centennial Park Retirement Village. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the North Platte Cemetery. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte. Mr. McIntosh was born on March 23, 1912, at Marquette to Robert and Maggie M. (Decker) McIntosh. He graduated from high school in 1931. He married Mildred Wagner at Central City on Feb. 20, 1934. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 34 years and lived in North Platte since 1949. He was a member of Eagles Lodge No. 378 in Grand Island and the Union Pacific Railroad Clerks Union. He enjoyed working on, buying and selling cars. He built two pontoon boats. He enjoyed working with his hands, doing yard work, gardening, hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Mildred, of North Platte; one son, Gordon "Jerry" McIntosh of North Platte; two brothers, Ben of Marquette and James of Hemit, Calif.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Orville, Joe, Fay, Ernest, Clyde, Guy and Forrest; and two sisters, Ethel McIntosh and Verna Youngs.
