Bio

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Marguerite Goodrich 96 passed away October 19, 2004 at her home in Holladay, Utah. Born Sept. 30th, 1908 in Millville, Utah to Martin Olson and Frances Louisa Jessop. She married Clyde Neilson in 1927. He died in 1944. She married Wilkins Goodrich in 1949, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death Oct. 29th, 1995. She was fiercely independent, practical, and full of wisdom, all traits she acquired as a young woman raised in a rural pioneer setting. Her mind was keen; her memory precise. In later years her daily routine included working the New York Times crossword puzzle down to the last square. She was the family historian, remembering people and events of the past in great detail. She had a warm and gentle side that she constantly shared with her family and friends. She was a great strength and example to all who knew her. She will be missed. Survived by children Janeal Andrus (Buddy), Pete Neilson (Nancy), Everett Neilson (Rosalie), Joe Neilson, and Dave Neilson (Mercie), stepchildren James Goodrich and Betty Rigby, 19 grandchildren, and 38 great grandchildren. Funeral services held Saturday, Oct 23rd at the Holladay Third Ward Chapel, 4568 S. Holladay Blvd, 2260 East) followed by internment in the Holladay Memorial Park. Cannon Mortuary, funeral directors.
