Bio

Everett O. Neilson passed peacefully at the age of 91 of natural causes on December 20, 2024. He was born January 26, 1933 to Joseph Clyde Neilson and Margurite Olson and was the fourth of six kids. He attended and graduated from Granite High School in 1951. He was then drafted into the US Army and served stateside during the Korean War. He was a hard worker who rarely missed a day of work and spent 30 years as a cable splicer for Mountain Bell Telephone Company. He met Rosalie Nichols and immediately knew she was the 'One'. They were married January 2, 1960 and later settled in Sandy, Utah where they raised their 4 kids, Michelle (Bernell), Andra (Darin), Kyle (Kourtne), and Adriane and spent many great times together as a family. He had six grandkids, Wade, Nicole, Lexi, Parker, Cayias, and Tristan, and two great-grandchildren, Lilly and Talon. His quiet and stoic demeanor, his humble outlook, his funny stories, colorful cursing, and infectious laugh will be missed by many. We will miss our weekly visits and gab sessions with him where we got to learn so much about who he is. We will miss you so much but know you were ready to join mom. Everett's family wishes to express gratitude to his nurse, Scott and the staff at Summit Senior Living who took great care of him for the last 5 years. We also wish to express gratitude to the staff at Ability Hospice who helped him immensely the last few months. Preceded in death by wife, Rosalie, sister, Janeal Andrus, brothers, Pete Neilson and Ronald Neilson. Survived by his 4 children, 6 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, brothers Joe Neilson and Dave (Mercy) Neilson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So), South Jordan, Utah. Viewings will be on Friday evening from 6-8 AM and Saturday from 10-10:45 AM prior to services. Interment will be at Memorial Holladay Cemetery, 4900 S Memory Lane, Holladay, UT.
