The People's Banner (David City, Nebraska) 01 Dec 1938, Thu Page 7 Mrs. James Haba passed away at the Kolouch hospital in Schuyler at 10:20 a.m. on Saturday morning, November 26, after a lingering illness of a year's duration. She had been at the hospital for the past three weeks. Her age was 60 years, 10 months and 14 days. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon from Schuyler to the Bruno hall at 1:30 p.m. Rev. B. Filipi of Clarkson preached the funeral sermon and conducted the burial rites. Interment was in the Bruno National cemetery. Drahomira Dvorak was one of the twin daughters born to Joseph and Marie (Bohaty) Dvorak of near Octavia, on January 12, 1878, her twin sister being Caroline Dvorak Pospichal. Drahomira and James Haba were married on July 23, 1898, and they made their home on farms near Bruno until retiring from farm life and moving to Bruno in 1934. Three children were born to them, Adolf and Ernest of Bruno, and Clara, Mrs. Frank Kavan, of Morse Bluff. Mrs. Haba is survived by her husband, and children and five grandchildren, two brothers, Joseph Dvorak, Shelby; Fred Dvorak, Fremont; and four sisters, Mrs. Charles Novak, Wahoo; Mrs. Joseph Noavak and Mrs. Anton Malovec, Abie; and Mrs. James Pospisil, Wausa. A sister, Mrs. Rose Vavra and a brother, Bohuslav V. Dvorak preceded her in death.
