Lincoln Journal Star (Lincoln, Nebraska) 20 Dec 1979, Thu Page 16 Elderly Pair Die In Crash Wednesday Schuyler (UPI) - Two elderly Schuyler residents were killed Wednesday night in a crash of their car and a semi-trailer truck on U.S. 30 six miles west of Schuyler, the Colfax County sheriff's office said. The sheriff's office identified the victims as Adolph and Bessie Haba . Haba was 78. Mrs. Haba's age was not available late Thursday morning. Deputy Bill Hynes said the Habas were coming off a county road when their car was struck by a westbound truck. Lincoln Journal Star (Lincoln, Nebraska) 21 Dec 1979, Fri Page 2 Adolph Haba and Besse Haba Schuyler - Funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Adolph (Besse) Haba will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Kucera-Rozanek Funeral Home here. The Rev. Donald Proett will officiate. Mr. and Mrs. Haba died in an automobile acciendt near Schuyler on Wednesday. Haba, 78, a retired farmer, was born Aug. 21, 1901, in Prague. He was a lifetime resident of the Prague-Bruno-Schuyler area. The former Besse Skala, 70, was born March 23, 1909, in Dodge. She married Adolph Haba on Oct. 18, 1934, in West Point. They are survived by one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Karen) Canady, Spriingfield, Vir.; and three grandchildren. Haba is also survived by one brother, Ernest, David City. Mrs. Haba is survived by one sister, Mrs. James (Ida) Slegl, Schuyler. They will be buried in National Cemetery in Bruno.
