Bio

BARBER, DORIS M.—Doris M. Barber was born to Frank J. Reinsch and Eda M. Volkmer Reinsch on May 19, 1934, on a farm near Grafton. She passed away Oct. 21, 1997, at the Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln, at the age of 63 years, 5 months and 2 days. She was the youngest of 12 children in the family. Doris attended country school at District No. 48. She worked several years at the Russell-Stover Candy Company in Lincoln. She was married to harry A. Barber, who preceded her in death. She had been a resident of the Heritage Nursing Home in Geneva for many years prior to her death in Lincoln. She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Geneva. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank J. and Eda M. Reinsch; brothers, Leonard Reinsch, and Eugene Reinsch; sister, Marie Matejka; and husband, Harry A. Barber. She is survived by sisters, Irene Mengler;, Agnes Van Wyck, Mildred Psota, Frances Voss, Ruth Nicholson, Lucille Smith, Barbara Yeck and husband, Leo; Betty Lohmeier; sisters-in-law, Blanche Reinsch and Mildred Reinsch; many nieces, nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services were conducted from the Father Ulenberg Memorial Hall in Geneva on Oct. 21, 1997, with Msgr. Ivan Vap officiating. Music was provided by the St. Joseph’s Women’s Choir. Casket bearers were Richard Matejka, Scott Reinsch, Steven Lohmeier, Ronald Psota, Larry Gaver and George Collins. Interment was in the Geneva Public Cemetery.
